Quilt Patterns
You can make blocks in one size this year 8" (finished- when the block is sewned into the quilt). Please only send us 8 1/2" blocks. We cannot use other sizes this year as it was very difficult to get every block into our 28 quilts. Please using only main colors of white and
pink. Other colors may be added for a little pizzazz. Download some great patterns from last year
here. Mail or bring the blocks into the shop anytime between now and September 20th.
For every block you send in, we will enter your name in a drawing for a wide variety of gifts we have collected from Book publishers, Fabric Manufactures and other quilting resources. Attach your full name, printed, state, and email address on a piece of paper to the back of each block. When a complete quilt is assembled that includes blocks you have made, I will send you a link to see the quilt. Your name will be added to the label on the back of the
quilt.

About Quilt Pink Day
Quilting
enthusiasts will come together for the first-ever Quilt Pink Day, a
fundraising event to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Hosting
the event locally and on the internet, will be Heart To Hand, a quilting shop
located in Portland, OR at 4823 SE Division Street, Portland, OR 97206.
On
Quilt Pink Day, quilters across the nation will make pink-and-white quilt blocks
at their local quilt shops. The shops will then piece together the blocks and
send their finished quilts to Better Homes and Gardens® American Patchwork
& Quilting® magazine for an online auction slated for May 2007. Net
proceeds from the auction will be presented to the Komen Foundation the
following October to fund breast cancer research and community outreach
programs.
Wendy
Ann Wood,
owner of Heart To Hand, sees Quilt
Pink Day as much more than just another fundraiser,
"but
a way to bring the entire community together for a great cause.” To ensure adequate space and
supplies for participants, Wood
recommends that quilters call in advance
of Quilt Pink Day, although walk-ins are welcome, too. The shop is also seeking
volunteers for Quilt Pink Day:
experienced quilters who can assist beginners with their blocks. Each
participant will have the chance to win
a prize package from Quilt Pink Sponsors: American Patchwork & Quilting,
Moda, Husqvarna Viking, Fiskars, C&T
Publishing, Robison Anton, Horn of America, Ott-Lite, and the Fabric Shop
Network.
